In most cases, women are mostly blamed for infertility leaving the men out of the infertility issue in marriages.

However, this shouldn’t be the case because infertility can also be traced to the men. There are some primary causes of male infertility which include low sperm production, abnormal sperm function, or blockages which prevent the delivery of sperm and these are known to be related to health problems.

These health issues can still be due to certain activities men is engaged in and it is important you avoid these activities. These activities are:

  • Laptops

According to a research done by the State University of New York; they discovered that there is a present link between staying on the laptop for an elongated period of time and an increase in the scrotum temperature. The research discovered that doing this can lead to a low gamete formation.

Therefore, always ensure that whatever you do, place the laptop on a table, not on your lap.

  • Carbonated drinks and Alcohol

Heavy intake of alcohol, carbonated drink and cigarettes smoking is an activity that can lead to infertility in men. This is because the caffeine in the drinks can damage the sperm. Sugary drinks can lead to an increase in insulin resistance resulting in oxidative stress which generally affects the production of sperm in the body.

Furthermore, Smoking cigarettes and tobacco affect semen mobility while alcohol and carbonated drinks affect the sperm production.

  • Hot bath

Frequent use of saunas or hot tubs can temporarily lower the sperm count because it is as a result of overheating of the testicles.

You should note that the sperm is produced when the scrotum is four degrees cooler than the other parts of the body.  Therefore avoid exposing yourself to hot heat because it reduces sperm production and avoids wearing tight boxers.
