What does the word ‘hygiene’ mean? Hygiene is the general upkeep of the body. In simple terms, it is the conditions and services that promotes and preserves health.it is also any practice or activity that you do to keep things healthy and clean.
There are several benefits of having a good hygiene which I will explain below.
- Reduce the risk of having various health problems
Maintaining a good personal hygiene helps to prevent the growth and spread of infections, diseases and unpleasant body odours. A good hygiene helps to fight against diseases. Also, when one is dirty and maintains a bad hygiene, the body cells become weak and get vulnerable to pathogens which enter our weak system and breaks down the cells which protect us. In the end, we lose our immunity and surrender to the pathogens and these results in various health diseases.
- It helps to improve blood flow and relaxation
When we take the right proportion of food and also carry out daily exercises. It helps to keep the body in a good state and other things connected to the body.
- It helps to improve one’s self-esteem and confidence
Confidence and self-esteem are affected by our body image which is reflected in our ability to care for ourselves and maintain good personal hygiene practices. Good hygiene brings about good self-esteem and this is simply because you feel better about yourself when you smell better and when you look good. This will enable you relate better with people around.
- Professional acceptance
No organization on the planet would like its employees to look unhygienic and untidy. The employees who are unable to maintain their hygienic presence throw an undesirable self-image on their colleagues as well as the clients. This insufficient hygiene practice leads to body odour and mouth odour which can affect the image of the company they are representing.
Furthermore, negligence with personal hygiene practices brings about the development of infections which affects his performance at the office. On the other hand, if an employee practices a good hygiene he/she will be easy to relate to within the working environment and it will also boost the company’s image.
