There is a popular saying that laughter is the best medicine. Well, there is no harm in believing this, but personally, I think people have failed to recognize the difference between laughter and genuine happiness. Laughter is not and will never be as deep as happiness, it only lasts for a few minutes. But when you want to really explain happiness, its a bit difficult to put into words. Happiness is excitement, its joy and contentment put together in one soulful feeling. Happiness is putting all the unpleasant issues of life behind you and embracing the good things you still have.

Have you ever been so happy about something others will call “little”? Well, its because we all have something I love to call the Joy Meter. This meter works differently on different people. This meter works hand in hand with how you see life. It works with your perspective. Simple things can trigger so much happiness in some people, while it takes a chain of events to make some extremely happy.

Have you ever wondered why people with health challenges have to go through extensive therapy? Its because at that point of illness, their view about life has changed. They begin to feel that their world has come to an end, now that thought is totally WRONG! Its not the end, but the beginning of a whole new world. Most times, we need to come to terms with the fact that there will always be a change in various aspects of our existence in the universe.

Now the million dollar question is, how do You find happiness? Contentment is the key to unlock that door. Having or creating the ability to endure any hardship life throws in your path is a sure way to have a healthy heart and a free spirit. Amazingly, the human body produces four hormones we call the “Happy Hormone” they are endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. Its not difficult to boost these hormones, all you have to do is keep your chin up at all times, never let fear keep you from doing what truly makes you happy. The truth is that life goes on, regardless of what you do or decide not to do. So why not live instead of just existing. Your health is too important to joke with and more often than not, how you handle difficulties has a way of affecting your health.

Let me borrow a quote from a very wise woman “Our deepest fear isn’t that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, talented, fabulous and gorgeous? Actually, who are you not to be?” It simply means that you should never look down on yourself no matter the situation. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. Reach for the stars, and if you don’t grab it at least you will fall on top of the world. And as you let your light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.

Stay Happy, find Your happiness and never forget that at Grace and Mercy, all we have for you and yours is pure, undiluted and unimaginable love.
